Antarctica – A Quick Recap of the Boat Trip!

Thank you to everyone who has been following the blog while I have been in Antarctica!  I have finally had a chance to get through some of the many pictures that I took throughout the trip.  More will be coming, but I wanted to get a few up so everyone could see some of the things I was writing about throughout the trip.

First of all…the boat trip to Antarctica.  In case anyone wanted to get a sense of the movement of the boat, here photo of the water coming over the bow!  I’m unable to upload videos here, but you can also check out a quick video on my Facebook page of the movement of the boat.

I also gave a bunch of updates about the crew of the boat constantly on the lookout for icebergs.  Although most of my blogs talked about trying to detect them at night, I was able to get a few good shots during the day so everyone could get a good idea of the size of the icebergs.

An iceberg - the crew was constantly on the lookout. If you look closely, you will see a penguin!

Finally, just a sense of the ice and cold for everyone.  I think the cold even comes through in the picture!  Make sure to dress warm if you ever go to Antarctica!

Yep - it was cold there!

Thanks again for following along!  I’ll be back tomorrow with some photos of the marathon course.
